A man has been hauled before the courts, accused of libel. Mickey Henry has been charged in connection with the circulation of a pornographic video online. Henry is accused of defaming a female who he said was the woman in the video. The young woman in question has denied the claims posted online by the arrested man. Women’s advocates are applauding her for pressing forward with a case against Henry. He was granted $5,000 bail or suitable surety when he appeared in the First District Court in Castries on Tuesday. The penalty for a conviction for intentional libel is a maximum 5 year prison sentence. A negligent libel conviction carries a 2 year prison sentence.
