Governments in the region told to modernize their tax systems

A new study published in Washington DC, is urging Latin America and Caribbean governments to renew efforts to modernize their tax system.The study done by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) suggests that while Latin America and the Caribbean have made great strides in boosting tax collection in recent years, they need a new generation of fiscal and tax reform to reduce income inequality, cut evasion, boost productivity, strengthen local governments and preserve the region’s natural resources.

Students of the Saint Joseph's Convent donated books to the Ciceron Combined School

Students of the Saint Joseph's Convent paid a visit to the Ciceron Combined School bearing gifts of books for the start up of a new library and had a reading session with the younger students. The gesture formed part of the Convent's Reading Month activities. Marcianne Lloyd is a Literature Teacher at Saint Joseph’s Convent.
