Pilots employed by the regional airline, LIAT, have withdrawn a threat to take strike action following a high level meeting on Wednesday. The National Workers Union represents some twenty LIAT employees in St Lucia and says it is heartened by the news. Antigua Observer reported that the Leeward Island Airline Pilots Association reached an informal agreement with LIAT’s management at Wednesday’s meeting. The informal agreement is expected to go before the Industrial Court in Antigua on Monday before being formally signed.
