National Security Minister, Hermangild Francis, says some eleven investigators from the United States are in the process of preparing a report to be submitted to the police and the DPP. The Minister has indicated that the government is ‘very serious’ about getting to the bottom of the matter but cannot rush to judgement. The investigators will come up with their recommendations and actions that need to be taken. Francis expressed the hope that the report of the investigators could be made public. The government, he says, is very anxious to find out what happened. He says the incident caused loss of lives, damage to homes and so it is a matter that must be dealt with very expeditiously. Asked about the matter of compensation, he said, that as long as people can prove that it is as a result of the blast then they have reason for recourse.
