Prime Minister, Allen Chastanet, in a meeting with the Police Welfare Association on Wednesday south to temper the expectations of police officers who inquired about salary increases. The Prime Minister says while the government is fully appreciative of the work of the police, financial constraints allow very little room to maneuver. He expressed gratitude to members of the Police Force, acknowledging that they are working under challenging conditions. He says steps are being taken to make their working conditions more comfortable and to provide needed equipment. He says government is committed t growing the economy to allow for salary increase to be granted but, it may not be possible at this present time.
