Leon Theodore-John is denying rumors that she has been asked to resign as the Speaker of the House, Theodore-John, had reason to ask the Prime Minister to take his seat and then commented that parliamentarians do not read the standing orders governing the Parliament, and therefore do not know the procedures and rules. She also had reason to caution the Member for Dennery South, after he remarked that she should “behave herself”. Rumors began circulating online on Wednesday that members on the government side were not happy with Theodore-John. By Thursday rumors of her being asked to resign were widespread. Theodore-John says there is no truth to the rumor that she has been asked to resign. She says when she accepted the position of Speaker she did so knowing that she would have to be fair and impartial and uphold the rules of the Parliament.
