The British Virgin Islands might begin harvesting plants such as marijuana for the medicinal purposes. The Deputy Premier and Minister for Natural Resources made the announcement during a recent public meeting in Tortola. More and more countries have started to explore the reported medical benefits of the highly controversial Marijuana plant. Some benefits include treating glaucoma, controlling epileptic seizures, reversing carcinogenic effects in the body, and improving lung health, among other things. The Natural Resources Minister says the plan is to have the local agriculture sector become the main revenue-earner for the BVI.
