In celebration of its 50th anniversary, the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court held an official ceremony to open its 50th Anniversary Exhibition under the theme “Celebrating the past and embracing the future. The exhibition will be open for five 5 days from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm daily. The main objective of the exhibition is to give the people of Saint Lucia a better understanding and appreciation of the inner workings of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court. The event gave the Chief Justice an opportunity to speak directly to attendees for the first time since several neighboring Caribbean islands, including the Court’s Member States and Territories of Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica and the Virgin Islands were severely impacted by catastrophic hurricanes Irma and Maria. Her Ladyship used the opportunity to remind attendees of the resilient nature of the people of the region and their ability to rise from adversity.
