Minister for Sports, Youth, Culture and Local Government, Lenard Montoute said the Hero Caribbean Premiere League (CPL) T20 games brought certain economic benefits to the island.
The television coverage provided for the games, he said, will give the island more exposure, putting Saint Lucia on the map as a destination for sports tourism.
Minister Montoute said his government is hoping to develop the product a little more by building certain facilities and improving those that are already exists.
The minister said he will lobby his government to complete the 50-meter pool and build a gym on site which can be used to invite professional athletes here to do winter training.
