There is a level of uncertainty about the operations of the Daren Sammy National Cricket Ground and whether its staff will be on hand to work for some upcoming events. Earlier this week the staff at the facility were off the job and they say it is because they continue to be met with disrespect as it pertains to negotiations with their union. A bargaining agreement was supposed to have been signed on last Wednesday but there was a typing error. The staff say the simple document has still not been signed. The employees are owed back for at least one triennium (3 years). The employees say the sick out was the manifestation of many demoralizing acts that have affected the staff. The staff have had to deal with both the water and electricity being shutdown. While these issues have been dealt with they say the struggle is far from over.
