The principal of the St Joseph’s Convent was robbed on Tuesday on the school compound. Sister Rufina Donat was inside the chapel at the school when she was accosted and robbed.
The alleged assailant was armed with a knife. He robbed her of her phone and took off running. Despite efforts by the caretaker to apprehend the thief, he was able to escape. Fortunately, Sister Rufina Donat, was not seriously hurt. However, the incident left the entire school population shaken. The area where the school is located has in the past been a popular hunting ground for thieves who prey on school children to rob them of any valuables.
